The Dress Chronicles Vol I: Chambray Shirtdress

May 29, 2017

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend. Today I am excited to be sharing the first installment in my blog series “The Dress Chronicles”. In each post, I will be sharing a dress and explaining the what, where, wear with, and why behind it. I love wearing dresses, and hope this series will show you the potential in different styles, and help you find some great dresses to add to your wardrobe.

A simple chambray shirtdress.

Running errands and shopping around my hometown.

Wear with:

I chose espadrilles, but a cute pair of sandals would be great for summer. Switch to ballet flats in the fall. I carried my trusty L.L. Bean tote to carry my purchases and a package I needed to mail.

It’s basically just a long version of the chambray shirts we all have. We love chambray shirts because they are comfortable and go with everything, and that is exactly why you will love a chambray shirtdress. I wear mine when I want to feel put together without having to actually put an outfit together. Just slip into your dress, put on some cute shoes and go!

I always stop to read the funny kitchen towels in this shop window when I’m around the court square. My personal favorites this time were “Some days you eat salad and go to the gym. Some days you eat cupcakes and put on yoga pants. It’s called balance.” and “I don’t know when exactly the UFO landed and dumped all of these stupid people, but apparently they aren’t coming back for them.”.

My dress and tote are on sale through Wednesday! I have also linked several other chambray dresses and espadrille options.
